What Is Multi-Masking?
The masking trend all over social media, multi-masking might just be about to change your skincare routine.
Generally a lot of us have differing skin types and textures all over our faces (oily T-zones, drier cheeks etc), so it makes sense that we shouldn’t really be using the one face mask all over. Multi-masking is the idea that you can use multiple different face masks at one time, and create a cool colour pattern on your face while you’re at it (that’s not really the idea but it is part of the fun).
Using a clay mask all over your combination skin may give your t-zone the detox it needs, but it could also leave you with uncomfortable dry cheeks or forehead area. By using multiple masks you can tailor your face mask to suit your skin perfectly, and once you try you may never go back.
So, “Which masks should I use where?”, I hear you asking, here is your complete guide.
Oily/ blemish prone areas eg. T-zone.
Your oily, shiney, blemish and blackhead prone areas are going to thrive from an oil absorbing clay mask. The TikTok famous Caudalie - Purifying Mask is an ideal option, as well as the REN - Invisible Pores Detox Mask, these masks can be painted along your nose, forehead, chin or wherever you feel oily and shiny. They can help to absorb the excess sebum without drying out your entire face!

Dry areas in need of hydration eg. cheeks/ forehead.
Any areas you can already feel tightening and drying up from the mention of a clay mask are probably going to need a moisturising mask. The kind that leaves your face glowing for the whole day after using (and leaving your oily areas shining like the top of the Chrysler Building) these are the perfect masks to use in the drier areas of your face while multi-masking. Ideal masks for this include the REN - Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask and the Skinician Revitalising Repair Mask, glow in all the right places.

With these techniques you will see a difference in your skin after a self care night, each part of your skin getting exactly the treatment it needs? Genius! Now, don't get me wrong, there will definitely still be nights when painting a picture with face masks won't seem super appealing after a long week, that's okay too! For these lazy skincare nights we have the trusty sheet masks, like the Seoulista Gold Glow Instant Facial, just pop it on and feel the goodness seeping into your skin.
