So with Summer hiding somewhere on the horizon its time to plunge head first into the heat with Dermalogicas Summer Skincare Tips! And why not check out "Summer Ready Hair with Moroccan Oil" for further summer tips!
Dermalogica Tip: Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate!
Truly effective exfoliation will eliminate dead skin cells and debris, this in turn will enable and support higher performance from your toners and moisturisers as the skin is left decongested and rehydrated. We recommend exfoliating 1-2 times per week prior to your beauty skincare routine.
Experts advise that you follow exfoliation with a hydrating body cream that acts to seal in moisture. Always defend your freshly exfoliated skin with an SPF (as recommended by the FDA), UVA & UVB protection is vital to the health of your skin.

Dermalogica Tip: Don’t forget to hydrate!
Maintaining skin hydration is crucial throughout the warmer months, by using intensive facial masques, facial boosters and refreshing and revitalising toners, your skin will preserve moisture as this blend of active ingredients work to balance out skin porosity. We recommend a facial masque 1-2 times per week, whilst a booster is perfect when layered beneath your moisturiser of choice. Why not use a toner as a facial spritz when the temperature rises or as the plane takes off!

Dermalogica Tip: Make H20 your new BFF!
As the temperature soars (we hope!) and you find yourself wasting away the hours outdoors, the heat and sun may cause dehydration which in turn can result in headaches and dizzy spells. But we’re clever women; we understand that we should drink at least 8 glasses of plain filtered water each and every day. Not only will it maintain and preserve the critical moisture balance of your body and skin it will also assist in detoxification.
Beautyfeatures.ie Recommends: Water, plain, pure water and plemty of it!
Dermalogica Tip: Not once, not twice but as many times as needed! Sunscreen that is!
Sun damage equals premature ageing, irreversible skin damage, sun burn and in some cases skin cancer. Now if that’s not enough to remind you to “slip, slop, slap” on the sunscreen, well nothing will! And remember it’s great that you’ve smothered yourself in SPF50 but it's vital to remember to re-apply and apply frequently, maintaining your defence against the damaging effects of UVA & UVB rays is crucial – re-applying every two hours would be a good rule of thumb.

5. Over exposed and over done!
It can happen, perhaps you didn’t apply enough sunscreen or the midday sun was hotter than you thought, or maybe your friends convincing you that your self tan would protect you was enough to tip you over into sunburn territory. Unfortunately once the skin is burnt the damage is done, it becomes red as the skin beneath the epidermis inflames, sounds painful, but it doesn’t need to be. Super soothing botanical and cooling, calming gels will act to prevent peeling and reduce the tell tale redness and inflammation.
Beautyfeatures.ie Recommends: Dermalogica After Sun Repair
Dermalogica Tip: Should have known better but its time to repair & treat!
Who doesn’t love a tan (well ok maybe Nicole Kidman) it signifies summer's here but it also indicates damage. For as soon as your skin comes into contact with sunlight a litany of damage results; the stripping of barrier lipids which cause inflammation, the production of reactive oxygen molecules that affect healthy cell growth and the beginning of premature ageing, hyperpigmentation, coarse skin and those confidence zapping wrinkles and fine lines. We recommend treating your skin with treatments that are packed with age fighting ingredients to help undo damage that has or may occur and to provide a greater defence against the ageing effects of UVA & UVB rays.
