How to Achieve Flawless Waves & Curls with our NEW selection of Mermade Hair Favourites!
Want to know the secret to achieving a flawless ‘do? Whether you’re after beachy, boho waves, loose curls or glamorous Hollywood curls, we’ve got the insider deets on how to create an effortlessly chic style for every occasion with Mermade Hair, who we’re thrilled to stock here at BeautyFeatures.ie!
1: It’s best to start with dry hair. If your hair curls better when freshly washed, we recommend blow drying with the Mermade Hair Dryer to ensure your hair is completely dry and ready for styling with hot tools. Don’t forget to apply a heat protector first!
2: If you find a style holds better for you on day-old hair, skip the washing and drying and prepare your hair by applying a heat protector. Then, brush your hair to ensure any pesky tangles are banished! We recommend the Mermade Hair Everyday Brush, the perfect one stop brush that’ll have you covered, well, every day! With heat-resistant bristles (up to 180°C/356°F, to be precise) and an oval shape design to target a larger surface area, it’s great as a pre and post-curling/waving brush!
3: Divide your hair into sections with the Mermade Hair Grip Clips Signature Pink. This will allow you to focus on one section of your hair at a time.
4: Decide on your wave preference. If you prefer a looser style of a wave, we recommend the Mermade Hair Pro Waver 32mm Signature Pink. The Three XL barrels are the largest currently on the market, and are uniquely designed to give you big bouncy waves! And if you prefer a tighter wave, look no further than the Mermade Hair Mini Waver 25mm Signature Pink! Your waves will be crimp free, instead creating mermaid-like locks! The advanced ceramic barrels are high grade ionic ceramic to protect your hair from unnecessary damage. The waver will help to seal your cuticles, add moisture, banish frizz, and, of course, add shine! And if you like to experiment with glamorous curls and mermaid waves, check out the Mermade Hair Style Wand with multiple barrel widths so you can interchange styles as often as you wish! To begin waving or curling, simply begin with each sectioned piece of hair. We recommend starting at the roots. Top tip: remember that the bigger the section of hair, the less defined your curl or wave will be. Smaller sections of hair will give you a more defined curl or wave. Generally, you should hold the tool on each section for 2-5 seconds, but you may prefer a shorter duration if you want a less defined finish.
5: Leave your style to set. Remember, don’t brush them straight away, or you’ll run the risk of undoing your fabulous ‘do! Your hair needs to cool down first in order for your curls or waves to set, so try not to touch them until then so as not to straighten them – we recommend around 20 minutes. If you want a glamorous, “brushed out” effect without actually brushing out your curls, we recommend gently combing the waves or curls through from underneath the hair. For this, it’s best to use a wide- toothed comb such as the Mermade Hair Wave Comb. This will help to separate your curls whilst also adding some volume to your style.
6: Want to top up your waves but don’t want to use too much heat? Check out the Mermade Hair Velcro Roller Kit, an all-natural approach to achieving Hollywood waves! Simply section your hair as desired depending on whether you want a tight or loose finish, and secure with the Mermade Hair Grip Clips Signature Pink.
